Last week I slacked off on the blog.
I was busy taking care of clients and working on projects, so I couldn't find the time to write (It's iiwake — an excuse, that is).

Since a whole week has gone by, I really have to write today. But it happens to coincide with the timing of writing articles for Monthly Merci, the newsletter our company publishes every month, so I'm all out of material. This time, as a little break, I thought I'd write about something personal.
There's nothing particularly useful in it, so I'd be happy if you read it thinking something like, "Huh, so that's the kind of person handling inquiries."

From Monday to Friday I work at Merci, but on Saturdays and Sundays I spend all my time at musical rehearsals.
On Saturdays I'm with a group in Kakegawa alongside junior and senior high school students, and on Sundays I'm with an adult musical theater company alongside people my own age and older seniors—immersing myself in demanding but fun times.

I was allowed to take all sorts of lessons as a child, but musical theater is something I started in second grade, and before joining Merci there was a period when my passion took me to Tokyo to work in theater.
Of course I worked part-time jobs alongside it, but those few years taught me both the joy and the difficulty of earning money doing what you love.

One thing led to another and now I'm back in my hometown here in Shizuoka Prefecture, but even after coming back, several groups reached out to me, so I've continued doing musicals—as a hobby, at least.

"Musicals? People suddenly break into song—I just don't get it!"

or,

"I've never even been to see one, so I have no idea what they're like!"

I'm sure many people feel that way…
But quite often, when I bring this up (that I do musicals),

"Actually, I love musicals too!"
"Is there a trick to the singing and dancing?"

—many clients say things like that, and we often end up chatting after a meeting.

Both the Kakegawa group and the Shizuoka theater company have performances in September (I got carried away and ended up appearing in both!), so right now I'm hard at work rehearsing.

At the same time, given my line of work, I'm also producing the flyers, pamphlets and the tickets we hand out to guests.

Even if a printing company feels a bit too costly, we can print from as few as 100 copies, so you can easily take advantage of flyers created by professional designers. For posters, even smaller quantities are fine.

Above all, I personally love making flyers and pamphlets like these!!
I'm in charge of client contact, so my role is to consult with clients and decide on the layout, wording and photos to use, while Merci's designers handle the design—but since I love it, I get excited working on projects together with them.

Both first-time clients and clients who have used our services several times tell us,

"The finished product really is different when you have professionals do it!"
