In this blog post, we'll show you how to composite part of one photo into another photo.

First, prepare two photos.

Start by opening the first photo—the apple on a white background. Use the selection tool to select just the apple.

(The area enclosed by the dotted line in the image is the selected area.)

Once the selection is complete, leave the first photo as it is and open the other photo in a separate file.

At this point, shrink the first photo down into a separate window as shown in the image.

Switch to the Move tool, then click and drag the apple area you just selected and drop it onto the second photo.

Just the apple from the first photo has now been copied into the second photo.

Since it is copied as a separate layer, you can freely change its position as well.

By compositing photos and editing them in Photoshop, you can create images like this.

If you have some knowledge of resolution, adjusting the size to match your intended output before compositing will give you a clean image that doesn't end up blurry or pixelated.

Being able to composite between photos with nothing more than a selection and a move is a very handy feature, so please give it a try♪
