The most basic of basics for increasing traffic from the internet is "updating your blog daily."
That said, keeping it up isn't easy.
Sometimes you'll find yourself thinking, "What should I write about today... I can't think of anything at all..." and it's all too easy to lose heart.
To prepare for those moments, let us introduce a way to come up with things to write about in a short time. There are many methods, but today we'll cover one of them: "getting ideas from search keywords."
Pick up ideas from "suggest words"
A method I often use is to take advantage of the "suggest words" that appear alongside the search phrase you type into Google.
For example, let's say I'm the owner of a beauty salon in Hamamatsu.
So I type "美容院 浜松市" (hair salon Hamamatsu City) into Google.
Words such as "Naka Ward," "Higashi Ward," "Kita Ward," and "reviews" are automatically shown before and after the phrase I entered.
These are called "suggest words"—Google is telling you that people who searched for "hair salon Hamamatsu" are adding words like these.
By using suggest words, you can easily get a sense of what phrases your prospective customers are searching with—and, from those search phrases, what kind of information users are looking for.
If you provide the information users want, you can make a good impression on visitors to your website. And that may even lead to them visiting your shop.
Searching with menu items or problem-related words makes it easier to find ideas
That said, when it comes to blog topics, the suggest words for "hair salon Hamamatsu City" don't really give you much to work with.
So try adding menu items or the kinds of concerns your customers might have to your search terms.
For example, let's search for "浜松市 カット" (Hamamatsu City haircut). The suggestions that appear include
"salons that are good at cutting," "model," "cheap," "model wanted," "1,000 yen,"
and so on.
You can see that users are interested in "salons that cut hair well," "salons with cheap cuts," and "cut models."
Next, let's search for "美容院 くせ毛" (hair salon frizzy hair).
Suggestions such as "fix," "cut," "how to ask," and "men"
appear.
"Salons that can fix frizzy hair"
"Salons that give cuts suited to frizzy hair"
"How should I ask for a style if I have frizzy hair?"
What users are specifically looking for becomes quite clear.
If you write an article based on a keyword from that list that catches your eye, you'll find it much easier to get started.
Effective for search engine optimization too
When you write blog posts this way, your articles will address exactly what search users are interested in.
Since you're reliably delivering content that's useful to them, their impression of you improves.
And there's another point: this is also effective for search engine optimization.
Because you find your keywords from actual search phrases and then write your article, those keywords naturally appear in your text. That means your article stands a chance of showing up when someone searches with that phrase.
As a result, you can create a flow of visits to your website → a better impression of you → visits to your store.
If you're going to spend your valuable time writing a blog, you'd rather it produced results, wouldn't you?
We hope you find this helpful.
