In this blog post, I'll show you an easy way to adjust the colors of a photo.

 

Once you've opened the photo you want to edit, select a new adjustment layer from the Layers panel.

From there, select Hue/Saturation.

The area outlined in red is the Hue/Saturation panel.

Lowering the lightness makes the photo darker, and raising it makes the photo brighter.

Lowering the saturation gives the photo a faded look, and you can even make it monochrome.

Raising the saturation makes the photo vivid and colorful.

Adjusting the hue lets you change the overall color feel like this.

Checking Colorize unifies the tones, letting you create effects such as a sepia look.

This Hue/Saturation adjustment is very handy! Since it's an adjustment layer, you can hide the layer with the eye icon to easily compare with the original or revert your changes.
