Hello. This is Tsukamoto, the designer.
When taking photos, have you ever paid attention to the light source and the light itself?
I'm sure there are plenty of times you've thought, "It's dark, let's turn on the lights!"
When taking photos, the brightness of the environment is very important.
Smartphones aren't good at shooting in dark places, which makes it all the more important.
However, when you want to take a beautiful photo, the number of types of light involved matters a great deal.
But what exactly do we mean by "types of light"?
Light close to white, such as natural light or sunlight
Light close to red, such as incandescent bulbs
Light close to blue, such as fluorescent lamps
It mainly refers to the color of the light.
The fewer types of light there are, the easier it is to take a beautiful photo.
Unless you have a good camera, shooting in dark places is tough, so it depends on how dark it is, but having light coming from all sorts of directions isn't great either.
The strength of the light also matters. If you want to shoot with a soft atmosphere, closing a thin curtain will soften the impression of the light.
In that respect, the angle at which the light hits is also important, so it's hard to generalize, but limiting the types of light is very important.
Speaking a little about angles, lighting from the side creates photos with a sense of depth, and transparent objects look beautiful when shot backlit.
Backlighting tends to be avoided, but it can produce relatively beautiful photos.
Light is a very important element in photography, so if you shoot while being conscious of limiting the types of light as much as possible, you may get photos unlike any you've taken before.
By all means, give it a try.
