Why the Client Contacted Us (Challenge)
We helped create the website for a client, an exterior business specializing in dry gardens and rock gardens, that newly opened in Irino-cho, Chuo-ku, Hamamatsu, in October 2024.
Because an opening event was planned for the new showroom, we aimed to publish the site as early as possible to spread the word.
What We Did
For the website production budget, we proposed using Shizuoka Prefecture’s “Small Business Management Improvement Subsidy.” With the president’s consent, we took part starting from drafting the business plan required for the subsidy application. As a result, the application was approved without a hitch, and we were able to reduce the production cost burden.
Because the schedule ran in parallel with the showroom construction, we sorted content into “content to publish before the showroom opens” and “content to publish after opening,” and moved production forward.
Since the president’s brand image had been consistent and clear from the very start of the project, we prepared multiple designs to get as close to that image as possible, and worked toward completion as the president chose from our proposals and gave revision instructions.
On the functional side, we implemented a posting feature so that, after completion, the client can publish their own exterior construction case studies themselves.
Overview
We helped create the website for a client, an exterior business specializing in dry gardens and rock gardens, that newly opened in Irino-cho, Chuo-ku, Hamamatsu, in October 2024.
The president runs a company that handles home renovation work such as exterior wall painting and roof repair, and this business is a realization of the president’s wish to popularize the dry gardens and rock gardens they had long been interested in.
A dry garden or rock garden is a style of gardening that uses tropical plants such as cacti, and rocks.
Its advantages include a stylish, urban look and little need for day-to-day upkeep such as watering. It has attracted attention in recent years, but it is not yet widely recognized, and we were told that there are “almost no” specialty shops operating in the Tokai region.
Background to the Project
Because an opening event was planned for the new showroom, we aimed to publish the site as early as possible to spread the word.
Because the schedule ran in parallel with the showroom construction, we sorted content into “content to publish before the showroom opens” and “content to publish after opening,” and moved production forward.
What We Focused On
When taking on this project, we focused on two points: “creating a business plan that would be approved for the subsidy” and “building a website that matches the world the client envisions.”
Creating a business plan that would be approved for the subsidy
To use a subsidy, you must first prepare a business plan, compile it into an application, submit it, and pass the review. A business plan is generally written by identifying current management issues and showing that they can be solved through an initiative funded by the subsidy... but since the client was in the phase of launching a new business this time, some creativity was needed.
So we decided to make a strength of something new that is not yet widely known: “What are dry gardens and rock gardens? What is the market potential?”
On top of that, we calculated the business model and revenue targets, including the grounds for them. The client’s showroom mainly retails plants, but we wrote out the business model that leads visitors to orders for exterior construction work, the pillar of revenue, and built it into the business plan.
As mentioned above, the application was approved without a hitch.
Building a website that matches the world the client envisions
The president produced everything, starting with the showroom.
