Overview
We helped create a customer-attracting website for a client who runs an administrative scrivener (gyoseishoshi) office in Hamamatsu.
In addition to drafting wills and handling inheritance procedures, the head of the office has deep insight into family trusts, which are not widely recognized, and possesses a high level of expertise.
We built in features to communicate these strengths clearly to prospective clients and to lead to inheritance consultations and seminar attendance.
For the website production budget, we proposed using
Shizuoka Prefecture’s “Small Business Management Improvement Subsidy” (Shokibo Kigyo Keieiryoku Kojo Hojokin).
With the consent of the head of the office,
we took part starting from drafting the business plan required for the subsidy application.
As a result, the application was approved without a hitch, and we were able to keep the cost burden down considerably.
Background to the Project
The head of the office’s request was: “We want to build awareness of our inheritance services centered on family trusts and attract clients.”
At first, we had no knowledge of family trusts at all.
So we started with research.
What is a trust?
What are the benefits of a trust, and who can enjoy them?
What are the key points when using a trust?
What should you watch out for when using a trust?
The head of the office patiently explained all of this to us, one point at a time. We were also told that trusts are still not widely recognized in Japan, and that there are few experts who can support people who want to use one.
What We Focused On
When taking on this project, we focused on two points: “creating a business plan that would be approved for the subsidy” and “building a website that helps the general public understand inheritance, and the benefits of trusts, in plain terms.”
Creating a business plan that would be approved for the subsidy
To use a subsidy, you must first prepare a business plan, compile it into an application, submit it, and pass the review. A business plan is generally written by identifying current management issues and showing that they can be solved through an initiative funded by the subsidy... but since the head of the office was in the phase of launching a new business this time, some creativity was needed.
So we decided to make a strength of something new that is not yet widely known: the ability to offer services that actively incorporate family trusts. On top of that, we calculated expected sales from the fee amounts for successful cases and built them into the business plan.
As mentioned above, the application was approved without a hitch, and we were relieved.
Building a website that makes the benefits easy to understand
We assumed there are four types of clients who could be won as inquiries through this website:
People who want to leave a will to prepare for the future
People who need to handle inheritance procedures right now
People who want to prepare for inheritance before a parent’s cognitive function declines
Parents of a child with a disability
For the direction of the content, so that these four target groups would recognize their own concerns and understand the head of the office’s strengths, we made it possible to publish many solutions case by case. By building up a large body of content, we aim to improve search rankings.
