We always talk about color in Monthly Merci, but today I'd like to talk about color here on the blog as well.
Hello. This is Tsukamoto from Merci.
Red
Red is a color that is also called the “sales color.”
Red is used so often in sale advertising not just because it stands out.
Red stimulates people's desire to buy, excites them, and moves them to act.
For that reason, it has the power to help shoppers who are hesitating make up their minds more quickly.
Also, because time seems to pass more quickly when you are surrounded by red, red is used in interiors when a shop wants to increase customer turnover.
Red is the most intense and eye-catching of all colors.
It is also a color that easily draws the eye and stays in the memory.
That is why it is used as a sign of urgency on traffic lights, road signs, fire engines and so on. Emergency stop switches and error lamps are basically red as well.
Red stimulates the secretion of adrenaline, raising blood pressure and pulse rate, and has the property of heightening tension and arousing excitement.
Red is also an aggressive color, stirring up drive, confidence and fighting spirit.
With such powerful and active effects, red is a color often used in company logos, as well as in sporting and leisure goods.
On the other hand, it is a color best avoided when calmness, relaxation or caution is called for.
It can also bring about negative effects such as overexcitement, fatigue and anger, so care is needed in how much of it you use and where.
The effects of color always have two sides. It would be great to understand those characteristics and use them appropriately!
